The LIGHT HORSE ART (and other artworks) of Ron & Jennifer Marshall

PAINTINGS WITH PURPOSE

We are a husband-and-wife team inspired by the beauty of nature, and the beauty of the relationships between man and horse working together in sometimes the most difficult of circumstances- that of war and we seek to honour their memory in our realistic artworks which have gained a world -wide reputation for authenticity.

All our work starts with an idea or story. We may read a historical account that generates that idea. We then search through the many thousands of photos we have for appropriate subject matter to use in creating an image that depicts that idea, story or feeling we want to convey. Some of these paintings really do take a lot of research, a lot of planning, a lot of time even before the paintbrush is lifted to the canvas, and I find, a lot of emotional energy, but they are also extremely satisfying. We truly do paint with purpose … but it takes a lot of effort and dedication – they don’t just fall out of our sleeve!

These beautiful paintings are reproduced as high quality giclee fine art prints so that they are available for more people to enjoy, reminisce or remember. We hope that our paintings touch your heart, and that you are also inspired by the wonderful stories of the Australian Light Horse, our Australian history and the other subjects that these paintings portray. Enjoy!”
